Tahiti 2010 Total Solar Eclipse Itineraries
We have created three outstanding eclipse observation itineraries, all based on the tropical paradise island of Tahiti in French Polynesia. This island offers a multitude of experiences in its own right and those choosing the standard itinerary will enjoy both the relaxation and calm of the island as well as the challenging and interesting hikes and safaris that are available.
The highlight of course is observing the total eclipse on the tiny Pacific atoll of Hao in French Polynesia. We take our private aircraft from Tahiti and make the 500 mile journey to our eclipse observation site on Hao - there are few more idyllic locations from which to observe an eclipse.
While observing the eclipse is undoubtedly the highlight, Tahiti, Easter Island, Chile, California and the other destinations we visit on our itineraries offer a wealth of history, culture, and stunning natural landscapes.
Eclipse Path 2010
Tahiti is the largest island of French Polynesia and makes a useful and very beautiful base for our expedition.
Meet Our Experts
We are accompanied on our tour by acclaimed astronomer Dr. John Mason MBE and our Easter Island guide, the former Governor of the island, Sergio Rapu.
