Our itineraries are taking shape and we’re now in the advanced planning stages for the total solar eclipse in Queensland, Australia in November 2012. By late summer this year we’ll have full details of the tours and prices and be ready to take bookings.

If you would like to register your interest in receiving the full details of the 2012 eclipse tours you can complete the Register Interest form and we will then notify you when they are available.

Our base for the 2012 total solar eclipse is in the Cairns region and we’re planning to offer a series of itineraries catering for both those who will be new to the ‘land of wonder down-under’ and those who know Australia and want to visit regions that are off the beaten track. The opportunity to tailor make your own itineraries around the eclipse will also be available.

Our astronomy expert Dr John Mason always goes the extra mile researching the best location to view the eclipse and he will be travelling the extra 10,000 miles to Queensland this November. Visiting at the same season as the eclipse will give him a great opportunity to make detailed assessments of the weather patterns and check out local conditions on the ground. As ever John will back this up with thorough research of historical climate data to find our Explorers viewing sight.

Tropical North Queensland is truly a land of riches and during your stay there will be time to explore the world famous Great Barrier Reef, enjoy the relaxed pace of Queensland life on their wonderful sandy beaches, visit the world heritage rainforest or head inland to the fascinating interior with its aboriginal culture.
